We've implemented several search features that enhance your ability to "Find the unsung heroes" that you're looking for.
* Basic text search is done by entering keywords into the top menu search field and hitting the "Go" button, or entering the keywords into the "Text Search" field on the search page.
* Role based search is possible by selecting a role from the left side role menu, or by selecting different roles in the category fields on the search page.
* Location can be added as a qualifier using the distance and location fields. Verify the location was entered and recognized correctly by using the embedded map display
*Role specific attributes to further define the search. A role specific attribute is a setting that is only valid for some roles. For example, a musician may have specified genres and instruments that you would like to search on. Other roles have no role-specific attributes, such as Event Services / Banners and Signs
All of these search qualifiers are "AND"ed together, except for the role specific attributes. If I want to search for a musician (Role) named Steve (text) within 50 miles of Topeka, KS (Location), role, location and text results are ANDed together so only those profiles that match all will be shown.
Role attributes are ORed together so that I can search for a musician named Steve within 50 mies of Topeka who plays either a tenor or alto sax. However, Steve has to play at least one of those instruments or he won't show up in the results.
I'm testing a phrase search today that I hope to post soon. That will allow you to search for "Steve Andrews" in quotes and not have results full of things like Andrew Steves, and Steve at Andrews Air Force Base
